Instagram carousel and panorama splitter
The short answer
This splitter cuts one wide image into 2–10 slides at 1080 × 1080 or 1080 × 1350 each, numbered in swipe order, and packages them as a ZIP — checked 31 July 2026.

1080 × 1080 is the standard square post canvas used by the collage, carousel and layout studios.

Add one wide image
A panorama or any wide graphic. The wider it is, the more slides it supports without upscaling.
Nothing is uploaded. The file is read by this tab only.
Runs on your device. Your image is decoded, cropped and encoded by this browser tab. It is never uploaded, and there is no image-processing service behind this page.
Why this asset is awkward
A panoramic carousel is one image sliced into consecutive slides so that swiping feels like panning across a single photo. The slicing has to be exact: a few pixels of drift and the seam between slide two and slide three becomes visible on every phone.
This page shows the cut lines over your image before you commit, lets you choose the slide ratio and count, and exports a numbered ZIP so the upload order is unambiguous. The whole operation — decode, slice, encode, archive — happens in your browser.
Slices are taken at integer pixel boundaries from the full-resolution source, and each slide shares its edge exactly with its neighbour. That is the detail most splitters get wrong: resizing each slide independently leaves a half-pixel of drift that shows up as a visible line at every seam.
Exact specification
| Asset | Pixels | Ratio | Formats | File limit |

What the overlays mean
The cut lines mark where each slide begins and ends. Content that straddles a line is split across a swipe, which is fine for scenery and bad for faces and words. Move the image or change the slide count until the lines land in quiet areas.
- Grid tilekeep content herePost 1:1
- A square post fills its profile grid tile exactly, with no further cropping.
- Profile grid crop (1:1)keep content herePost 4:5
- A 4:5 post is cropped to a square on your profile grid, losing the top and bottom.
Three things that go wrong
- 01
Never let a face straddle a cut
A face split across two slides reads as a mistake. Scenery, texture and gradients split invisibly.
- 02
Match the source width to the slide count
For four square slides you need a source at least 4320 pixels wide to avoid upscaling. The tool warns you when the maths does not work out.
- 03
Upload in order
Instagram uses the order you add files, not the filenames. The ZIP is numbered 01, 02, 03 for exactly that reason — add them one at a time in sequence.
Questions people actually ask
How do I split a panorama for an Instagram carousel?
Upload the wide image, choose how many slides you want, and check the cut lines. Export the numbered ZIP, then add the slides to a carousel post in order. Each slide comes out at exactly 1080 × 1080 or 1080 × 1350.
How many slides can an Instagram carousel have?
Instagram supports up to 20 in a carousel; this tool splits into up to 10, which is where a panoramic swipe stops being pleasant to look at and starts being a chore.
Why do my carousel slides have visible seams?
Usually because the slices were resized independently or the source was upscaled. This tool slices from the full-resolution source at exact pixel boundaries, so adjacent slides line up. If you see a warning about upscaling, the source is too small for the slide count you chose.
Is this the same as an Instagram grid maker?
No. A grid maker chops an image into tiles for your profile grid. This splits one image into swipeable slides inside a single post. The feed layout planner on this site covers the grid side.
